Letter to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration

February 4, 2022: ABQAURP has joined with other health care organizations in signing a letter to the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) in support of using connected health technologies to improve patient outcomes and reducing health care costs. The letter is in support of the implementation of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and funding of its related programs. Consistently growing evidence suggests that digital health technologies improve patient outcomes, reduce hospitalizations, avoid complications, improve patient engagement, and reduce costs. Our health care system requires a shift to support continuous contact with patients in underserved communities across rural, suburban, and urban geographies. Recommendations in the letter are intended to allow access to broadband networks in vulnerable populations to facilitate the sharing of health data where and when it is needed most.

From ABQAURP’s CME Chair:

May 18, 2021: ABQAURP as an organization was able to achieve a significant milestone on Friday, April 30, 2021. In view of the pandemic, like many other organizations, we were faced with the dilemma of how to accomplish our goal to hold our annual meeting safely and effectively. Although unable to do so in 2020, we eventually were able to host the 43rd Annual Health Care Quality and Patient Safety Conference, 20/20 Insight into Value-Based, Quality Care. We believe the presentations and related discussions supported our mission to improve the overall quality of health care while providing valuable information to our members and the health care community.

ABQAURP believes it is important to support the telehealth initiatives that align with our mission to promote high quality and safe health care to our populations.
