Dr. Melissa Buchner-Mehling began her career as a hospitalist in 2004 after completing her Internal Medicine Residency. She transitioned over from being a full-time hospitalist to an onsite physician advisor and now serves as Associate Chief Medical Officer of Sound Advisory Services, where she continues to advance quality, education, and collaboration in health care.

Dr. Buchner-Mehling was CHCQM certified with Physician Advisor sub-specialty in 2016 and CPHYADV certified in 2024. She is an active member of our Education and Physician Advisor Editorial Committees, was an integral part of the Advanced Physician Advisor Exam development, and frequently presents at our annual conference. We are proud to have Dr. Buchner-Mehling and her colleagues as ABQAURP members!
